Once when Revel Radcliffe was young and troubled by his widowed father’s plans to remarry, he fled into the woods and met a young girl who was out picking wildflowers. Her words that day comforted him in his distress and introduced him to a lasting faith. Now as a man facing an uncertain future, he remembers that girl, who again helps him summon the courage to face a new day.

Grace Livingston Hill has a touch of the divine in her writing that seeps in naturally all about the scenes and dialogues and characters. When you open her books, it is like walking into the door of a room from a hundred years ago and imbibing the fineness of character and soul that fights for a woman's honor and purity with tenderness and strength of conviction that carries through impenetrable barriers with a prayer and a hope in the dark. When her heroines break forth into the light of a sudden victory over mean-spirited people who harass them and torture their souls, the reader feels like jumping up and dancing for sheer joy that the man of Christ has conquered the fearsome devils that threaten his lady, and they are free together to cherish one another in a heavenly and gentle nurturing that adds a nobility and benediction to all of their days. You will never be sorry that you read a Grace Livingston Hill book. I love her so much and have had so many uncanny, miraculous encouragement from her that I titled my blog after her, GraceLivingstonHillGirl.com and I find her example inspiring me every day with goodness and beauty even in mundane duties.Product details

The Girl of the Woods Love Endures edition by Grace Livingston Hill Religion Spirituality eBooks Reviews
A typical GLH story, I enjoy them all. I have more than half of her books and eagerly await each new one. I could wish that the year each was written would be included in the publication info, because things changed so much during her years of writing, and it helps in understanding why something was significant at that time but is largely unknown to us today.
Aww this book is really cute...I love Revel! D Definitely a classic GLH book ) The only thing I don't like is that she has a tendency to just kill off characters that are in the way of her storyline D but it's definitely a good book highlighting faith and family and love. (without being boring)
Another book that brings back times that were filled with those who knew teach whys and wherefore about living tight. Oh for those days again before all the youth has been swallowed by th world.
I am always blessed when I read Grace Livingston Hill's books. Although the stories are set in the 1920's & 30's, the characters deal with the same issues we have nowadays doubt, fear, temptation, morals.
I love that Livingston's books always share the gospel & teach the importance of prayer & a personal, intimate relationship with Jesus. She includes an array of scriptures that never fail to reach my heart & move me, sometimes to tears.
Not quite your typical GLH story but wonderful. I loved the way her characters came to life. she did a great job in actually letting them have a misunderstanding and letting it pass. I liked the way He went back and cared for his father at the end. She really let them be flawed and grow up. I loved this book very much and highly reccomend this book especially for a first time read of her books
A young man misses his mother who has died and cannot accept the new stepmother his father is wanting to marry. In his sorrow and distress he flees to the woods where he meets a young girl who encourages him by giving him hope in God. The events that follow in both their lives and what God teaches them is so enlightening and encouraging for their second encounter years later.
I really enjoyed this story by Grace Livingston Hill and now one of my favorites, so I am glad I found and purchased it. The hero and heroine meet for a brief time in the beginning, and then are separated for most of the book, although they correspond. They each have different issues and problems to overcome, but their journeys hold the reader's interest throughout. Even though the book was written long ago, their struggles are up-to-date, and the period details just make the story more interesting. The reactions to each other as they correspond, hurt feelings or doubt, are authentic. Grace Livingstone Hill had an understanding of people and what they go through in life and this book reads true-to-life. A happy ending is guaranteed and the reader will root for this hero and heroine to resolve their difficulties and come together at the end.
